Summer Technology Camp for 5-16 year olds to take place 4 July – 5 August

Uncategorized

May 16, 2022 Stockfarm, Dominica – Create Caribbean will host the annual Create & Code Summer Tech Camp at Dominica State College from 4th July  – 5th August 2022.

During Create & Code, campers explore a variety of programming languages and techniques. Campers apply STEM, digital media  and creative expression skills to a range of projects and activities.

While Covid-19 has affected operations, we would like to continue to encourage children to use technology to improve their society and the world around them.  It is especially important in the current climate that they are inspired to bring social awareness, through creative arts including writing, crafts, drawing and painting, to the design and function of their technology projects. This year’s Summer Tech Camp includes both in-person and online camp experiences, with the option to choose a blended schedule or stick to a preferred mode of participation!

During the Summer 2021 “Earth and Planetary Science” edition of Create & Code, field trips helped campers learn how planets formed and how the layers of the Earth affect the features at the surface. They applied 3D design, virtual reality, coding, video editing and photography skills to the task of building and displaying a new planet.

This summer campers will explore themes in literature, movies and video games to tell a new, immersive story about a futuristic Dominica. Participants will choose how to share their story using what they have learned at camp.
