Caribbean Writers’ Room is an online platform for emerging writers of Dominica and the wider Caribbean. The Caribbean still struggles with access to many benefits of the global publishing industry given the limited resources available. From education on writing and publishing to opportunities for getting work published, to mentorship, community and visibility for authors, small islands like Dominica could benefit from additional support to strengthen writers’ communities and to provide a space for learning and sharing work that can bring Caribbean writers and their work in spaces within and beyond the region.

Caribbean Writers’ Room brings together the benefits of digital humanities, open source learning and publishing platforms and an eager literary community in an online platform. The online space offers virtual six-week writing workshops, live and recorded master classes with Caribbean writers, resources on publishing, festivals, literary agents, development of the craft, and so much more.

Caribbean Writers’ Room is one of the forms of support for and collaboration with Waitukubuli Writers, a non profit organization based in Dominica, which is a member of Create Caribbean’s Community Partners Program, made possible by funding from the Mellon Foundation.
