What lies ahead for me?

IMG-20160312-WA0001Being with Create Caribbean in the upcoming semester will hopefully help me continue my growth as a budding graphic designer. During the summer I will be working on attachment as a building graphic designer and I am more than grateful to Create Caribbean for the exposure and opportunities that I received throughout the previous semester. It was a difficult semester however I was able to balance my time properly so that I could meet deadlines for both academic and intern assignments. I think that continuing my internship at Create Caribbean in the new semester will strengthen my time management skills as an individual.

This semester was a very hectic semester. As an Architectural Technology student at the DSC, I was faced with the challenge of submitting two projects, a 4-floor hotel and a 2-floor bank, as well as submitting all the requested graphics of me on time.  Thankfully, I was able to gauge my time properly and submit graphics on time and since I’ve completed most of my core courses, next semester should be less hectic for me in terms of managing between schoolwork and intern work. Also, because I spent most of my Saturdays working on my projects in school, I was unable to accompany the team on the survey missions however, I was able to make time to take part in the Create & Code workshops. Being at Create Caribbean over the past two semesters has placed me in an environment where I interact with people and being a relatively shy person, it has truly helped me.

When I graduate from the Dominica State College, my plans are to go to university or work abroad as a graphic designer. Hopefully I will be able to study or work in Brazil, the United States or Europe, however it is my dream to go to France. I haven’t decided whether I plan to continue my education in Architecture or Graphic Design/ Illustration however my plans for the future include pursuing a career where I can use the skills that I’ve obtained in both fields.I’m not too certain of my future or plans for my future but for now, I feel like being at Create Caribbean is being on the right track.
