IMG-20160409-WA0009When I decided to major in both Business and English, I set myself on a flexible career path and thus spent my college years exploring ways to use my skill set. When I sought out Create Caribbean I was seeking avenues to use my skills to get involved in Dominican projects and build a strong professional and social network. Moreover, because of Create Caribbean I became interested in the concept of Digital Humanities and its application. Through the Environmental database and the Imagined Homeland projects, I have gained an understanding of the various ways I can adapt the humanities to continue to engage the future generations, as society becomes more digitally based. I now understand and appreciate the fact that I can apply my passion for the humanities to multiple fields.Through the exploration of digital humanities at Create Caribbean my possible professional avenues have expanded to not only include more technical fields, but also allows me to forge avenues that connect me to my country.
