As the world’s resources begin to deplete continuously, sustainability and conservation are of growing importance. The Carisealand project highlights the resources for environmentalism and sustainability in the Caribbean Islands. This project aims to list all the Caribbean organizations, businesses and projects involved in sustainability on a website where their locations can be easily navigated. The project categorizes each resource according to its type of site, company, government agency, organization, document and project. The resources’ contact person, number, email and address are listed. A short description, website and image of the resource is also given.

In addition, the Carisealand Project focuses on the Caribbean Islands sustainable and environmental resources. This includes natural sites such as the Harrison’s Cave in Barbados and the Freshwater Lake in Dominica. One of the challenges I encounter is obtaining the contact information of the natural sites as they are open to the public and the organizations in charge of maintaining them have not advanced to creating their own website, however many other sites provide a brief description and contact information for these sites.

This project provides me with the knowledge of my Caribbean neighbours. I find it very interesting and fun to research each islands natural sites and be in awe of their beauty. Each island has its own uniqueness and attractions.
