Dr. Rhea Olivacc\u00e9<\/p><\/div>\n

Dr. Rhea Olivacc<\/span>\u00e9<\/span> is a classically trained vocalist based in Kalamazoo, MI.\u00a0 Known for her \u201cvibrant color\u201d and \u201cvivacious abandon\u201d, she<\/span> is celebrated for her interpretation of operatic roles including Mimi and Musetta from Puccini\u2019s <\/span>La Boh\u00e8me<\/span><\/i>, La Contessa from Mozart\u2019s <\/span>Le<\/span><\/i> Nozze di Figaro<\/span><\/i>, Tatyana from Tchaikovsky\u2019s <\/span>Eugene Onegin<\/span><\/i> and Suzel in Mascagni\u2019s <\/span>L\u2019amico Fritz<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 She has performed with Des Moines Metro Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera Western Reserve, and Skylight Music Theatre among others.\u00a0 Dr. Olivacc\u00e9\u2019s work as an orchestra soloist has been widely recognized in performing such works as the Mozart, Brahms, Faur\u00e9, and Rutter <\/span>Requiem<\/span><\/i> Masses<\/span><\/i>, Bach\u2019s <\/span>St John Passion<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Magnificat<\/span><\/i>, Mendelssohn\u2019s <\/span>Elijah<\/span><\/i>, Beethoven\u2019s <\/span>Ninth Symphony<\/span><\/i>, Handel\u2019s <\/span>Messiah<\/span><\/i> and Strauss\u2019 <\/span>Four Last Songs<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 She has graced the world-renowned stages of Carnegie Hall and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Dr. Olivacc\u00e9 is an alum of the AIMS program in Graz, Austria, where she was a finalist <\/span>in the Meistersinger Competition in 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Olivacc\u00e9 is a frequent masterclass clinician and sought-after recitalist who specializes in African-American Art Songs and Negro Spirituals and Classical Vocal Music of the African Diaspora.\u00a0 In summer 2019 she was a Fellow at the NATS Intern program.\u00a0 Dr.\u00a0Olivacc\u00e9 holds a DMA and MM from University of Michigan Ann Arbor and a BM from Florida International University. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.<\/span><\/p>\n
