Hermancia S. Eugene-Zamore  (Ph.D) completed her Ph.D in Molecular Virology Microbiology at the University of Pittsburgh and her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Cameron University. Dr. Eugene has authored multiple published chapters and journal articles including “Rhesus macaques vaccinated with consensus envelopes elicit partially protective immune responses against SHIV SF162p4 challenge”.  After completing her graduate work, Dr. Eugene returned to the region in hopes of exposing our young people to the opportunities that she had for growth. 

Dr. Eugene-Zamore , is currently the Dean of Academic Affairs at the Dominica State College (DSC) for the past four years. In this position she is responsible for all things academic, including but not limited to policy development, program review, grant writing, staff professional development and partnership development. Prior to this position she was a biology lecturer and head of the science department at DSC. As a lecturer she was involved in student development outside of the classroom. She was the advisor for the Biology club and assisted with the Environmental club and DSC Ambassadors. Dr. Eugene-Zamore has also mentored students applying for Student Program for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE) and Sagicor Visionaries Challenge. Her interest in student development has lead to her being active in graduation and orientation committee and serving on the Academic Council of the Dominica State College 

Outside to DSC, Dr.Eugene-Zamore is a CAPE Biology moderator. She has also worked on multiple curriculum development and outreach for CXC in both Biology and Environmental Science. She also served as a mentor in the Global Stem Alliance Program as a member of the New York Academy of Science.  Currently Dr.Eugene-Zamore is the Intern Coordinator at Create Caribbean Research Institute. Dr. Eugene-Zamore is a past member of the Kiwanis Club of Roseau and the Red Cross Society St. Lucia.
